I have been a client of Safe Moves for eight months.  My case manager there is very helpful to me emotionally, and she is always there for me when I need someone to talk to about my problems.  I am a domestic violence victim.  It didn’t happen overnight, but it happened for 14 years.  I have 2 children, 12 and 4 ½.  The oldest has witnessed the violence throughout her life.

When I  first came to Safe Moves, my life was a mess. I was helpless, clueless, and confused.  I didn’t know what to do with my life or how to protect my children.  I opened my self up to my violence intervention case manager and I knew she was the right person to talk to.  She has always been informative, kind-hearted, helpful, and most of all very understanding.  She helped me through a very frightening time.  I constantly called her after our first meeting and I cried many times while we talked.  My husband is not living with us now and our lives are a lot better, emotionally and physically.  I still call my Safe Moves case manager,  updating her on what’s going on in my life.  I am thankful to God that I’ve met her.  She is my mentor and I will never forget her for the rest of my life.
